Illegal immigration

Hello again

I am blogging today about a problem we have in our country and no it is not guns! Today I am blogging about Illegal immigration, our federal government will not do anything to stop this problem and when States stand up and attempt to do something about it. Our Federal Government is supposed to enforce our laws and protect our borders and citizens. Instead, the government decides to sue the state of Arizona to stop it from enforcing the laws to protect its borders.

Let's take a look at why the federal government would not want to stop illegal immigration, and why they will not sue the sanctuary cities to make them stop harboring illegals.

The first point of evidence is the 2010 Census:

The 2010 census will determine the apportionment of House members and Electoral College votes for each state. To accomplish these vital constitutional purposes, the enumeration should count only citizens and persons who are legal, permanent residents. But it won’t.

Instead, the U.S. Census Bureau is set to count all persons physically present in the country—including large numbers of people who are here illegally. The result will unconstitutionally increase the number of representatives in some states and deprive some other states of their rightful political representation. Citizens of “loser” states should be outraged. Yet few are even aware of what’s going on.

President Obama has decided to have the director of the 2010 census report to the White House instead of the Commerce secretary, as is customary. Kind of strange don't you think?

Now let's look at Money:

Not counting illegal aliens costs cities and states federal money, resulting in a reduction of services to all residents. The census count is used by Congress in deciding how to distribute more than $400 billion annually to state, local and tribal governments. The formula is simple: the greater the population your state or city reports, the more federal money it might get.

Cities provide the same level of services like police, fire and emergency medical treatment to illegal immigrants as they do to U.S. citizens. In some states, like California, illegal immigrants attend public schools. In 2004, the Federation for American Immigration Reform estimated the cost to California cities for education, health care and incarceration of illegal immigrants at $10.5 billion per year.

According to a PricewaterhouseCoopers study released by the U.S. Census Monitoring Board, a total of 122,980 people went uncounted in Georgia during the 2000 census. As a result, the state will lose out on some $208.8 million in federal funding through 2012, a loss of about $1,697 per uncounted person.

A Matter of Equal Representation and Politics

Our Unconstitutional Census

Counting illegal immigrants in the census undermines the fundamental principal of American representative democracy that every voter has an equal voice. Through the census-based process of apportionment, states with large numbers of illegal aliens will unconstitutionally gain members in the U.S. House of Representatives thus robbing the citizen-voters in other states of their rightful representation.

In addition, an inflated population count resulting from the inclusion of illegal immigrants would increase the number of votes some states get in the Electoral College system, the actual process of electing the President of the United States.

In short, including illegal immigrants in the census count will unjustly bestow additional political power in states where lax enforcement of immigration laws attract large populations of illegal aliens, such as California, Texas and other states in which Democrats seek to gain greater influence over national politics.

That is why the government went after Arizona when they tried to stop illegals, and why the same government will not enforce the federal laws to stop illegal immigration. The sanctuary cities and states benefit heavily by having large populations of illegals not only by receiving federal dollars but also by having cheap labor (almost slave like).

Also illegals heavy use of entitlement programs widely supported by the liberal Democrats:

Among the largest costs are Medicaid ($2.5 billion); treatment for the uninsured ($2.2 billion); food assistance programs such as food stamps, WIC, and free school lunches ($1.9 billion); the federal prison and court systems ($1.6 billion); and federal aid to schools ($1.4 billion). (From a 2002 study By Steven A. Camarota )

The High Cost of Cheap Labor

Thus you can reason that the illegal’s are harbored here to help the liberals maintain the power they now have and to further push our Great Republic toward a socialist or communist agenda. Please remember this by supporting States like Arizona.

It's been awhile

Hello again,

I have not written to my blog in sometime, with life things going on and being very busy with work I have not even fired a round in over two months. So this post will be about practice. It is essential that you practice with your firearm regularly, there’s a saying that goes, “When danger accosts you, you fight the way you train, so it behooves you to train the way you fight”.

In a time of crisis when you need your defensive tools and skills the most, when adrenaline is rushing through your body and your unconscious reaction takes over your conscious train of thought, your body relies more on gross motor skills and muscle memory to do the right things to protect yourself.

If you don’t know this: Hello, gross motor skills and muscle memory come from training. So even if you cannot afford to fire hundreds of rounds a month you can do dry fire drills. Try the link that I posted all you need is an empty gun and a computer screen. (Yogisgunblog is not responsible for you shooting your computer or anything else since you did not follow directions and clear your weapon and move the ammo to another room)

If at all possible I suggest that you fire at a minimum 50 live rounds a month. And do dry fire practice drills weekly. You can also fire a .22 cal handgun very cheaply, 500 rounds are 15-20 dollars. There are many drills you can and need to practice, we all have guns that we put in the glove box or in a drawer and there they are until we are attacked. can you get your gun out and charged and fire accurately in that moment of stress? what if you have a malfunction? Can you clear it and get back into the fight? That is where training and practice comes in to play. I am going to post some links to different training and practice drills, take some time to check them out and remember........practice your life depends upon it.

Judge Napolitano on Gun Rights.mpg

Take a look at this video and there is a list of gun friendly businesses on there. Be sure to patronize these places and let the Management know that you appreciate them not denying your rights. Keep in mind they may not be supporters of the second amendment but the are not denying your rights either.

Let's show them that we are good law abiding people, and we are not bad for business.

Customer service

Hello from Yogi's world:

I have been a gun owner and user for more than 15 years now. Fifteen years is not a long time in the history of guns, but it is long enough to have dealt with a few gun manufacturers. I have many friends who have also had to make the dreaded phone call to tech support.

In most industries when you call in for help you are put on hold for long periods of time only to find when you finally get to talk to a live person you can't understand them, since the live on the other side of the planet from you. Well most of the gun manufacturers are here in the USA. So you are talking to an English speaking person who is knowledgeable about the thing you are having trouble with.

I have had occasion to deal with Colt , Smith and Wesson, and Les Baer, and many more. Most recently I had to make the dreaded call to Crimson Trace, let me just say that I have never had a bad experience with anyone in the gun or gun related industry. They have all been helpful and very knowledgeable as well as prompt and they all have done exactly what they told me they we going to do without me having to make multiple phone calls to get it done.

Now back to Crimson Trace, I purchased a pair of used Crimson Trace grips model 305 for my Smith and Wesson 360PD J-frame.

When I received them they would not fit my gun just right. So after a few minutes I noticed that a plastic piece on the frame side of the grips was broken. It is the cover for the Laser, well I knew that this had to be fixed since this is what retains the actual laser for the grips.

So I made the call and spoke to a very nice Woman at Crimson Trace. After explaining my problem and asking her if I could purchase a replacement for the broken cover, She told me just to send it in and they would take care of them for me. Well being that I did not purchase this set of grips new, I told her that I bought them on ebay and if she could just sell me the piece in question I would take care of it myself.

She informed me that it did not matter where I purchased the grips, that I should just send them to Crimson Trace and they would make the repair. So after a few questions from her I had a return number and a shipping address. I sent them in via UPS and it took over a week for UPS to get them to Crimson Trace. The were delivered to Crimson Trace on a Friday, so on Tuesday of the following week I called in to Crimson Trace to check on my grips and be sure they had them. A man answered the phone and I told him what I wanted and he proceeded to look up my repair request.

He told me my grips had shipped out (they had only had the grips for one business day)and asked me if I wanted him to track them for me. I told him yes and he put me on hold for a minute and came back and told me the the UPS track system was down and if I wanted to I could call back in a little while and he would try to track them again, or he could give me the tracking number. So I had him give me the number, I then asked what the repair was going to cost and he said there is no charge. WOW someone actually stands behind a product that they make.

So I received my grips back from Crimson Trace and they had sent a brand new set of batteries still in the package with the grips. I was as happy as I could be with their great service and on top of all that they sent me free batteries.

I was very happy with my grips and very satisfied with the service I had received. About a week later, much to my surprise I had a message on my answering machine from Crimson Trace. The message stated that they wanted to be sure I was happy with my grips and to tell me that if I had any questions or needed anything to please give them a call. WOW I was shocked at this since they had already gone beyond the level of service that I had expected.

I had intended to write a blog about the high level of service within the gun industry in general but after dealing with the Great People at Crimson Trace, I felt it necessary to get it done.

So in closing I want you to think about all the times you had to call some company for tech support or with a problem with one of their products. And you had a bad experience and did not get any satisfaction, after being on the phone for long periods of time talking to someone that barely speaks that same language as you. I can think of no other industry that will provide the level of service and stand by the products that they make better than the folks of the gun industry.

Thank you Crimson Trace.
